Iphone 4 lock/power button not working.

I have an iphone 4 and the lock/power button is completely irresponsive. The only way it locks is the auto lock, which is quite annoying. Also when you are using the phone the "slide to power off" screen will just randomly pop up. I realize apple would most likely replace the phone however I am a few weeks OUT of warranty. Anyone have any ideas??
