Mizzy,
If you haven't done so already, take a look at the posts listed in the More Like This pane to the right of your original post.

I've done that, but the advice given does not match what I see. I bought my Macbook Pro a few weeks ago and I'm using OS X Lion. I think this system must work differently.
What do you see?
Jerry
In Finder, on the left it lists
All my files
Airdrop
desktop
my user name
Applications
Documents and then DEVICES
On the right it has these heading with files
Images
PDF documents
Music
Movies
Developer
Documents
The templates are not shown anywhere.
You're close. You would have to read posts until you happen upon one dealing with Lion to get the right directions for your case. You didn't mention that you are using Lion, so I didn't want to assume.
From where you are now, seeing files as you posted in your response, Press the Option key and hold it while you select from the menu line: Go > Library. Now the Library file will appear along with Music, Movies, etc.
Select this Library folder and then Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates

Jerry
Which one is the Option Key?
Found out the Option key is the Alt Key.
Did as you said but nothing happened. Will see if I can find another post as suggested.
Thanks for your time.

On some keyboards the Option key is marked Alt, and on others it has both markings. On my keyboard it is between Control and Command.

The templates will not appear in the left side of a Finder window. These are just a list of frequently used folders and devices.
The Pages templates folder is many folders deep within your Mac:
Macintosh HD/Users/YourName/Library/Application Support/iWork/Pages/Templates/My Templates
If you're using OS X Lion then you can't actually see this folder. This is because the Library folder is hidden. To get around this you need to go to the Finder:
You can then delete whichever template you wish.
If you had looked to the right in this Safari window under More Like This you would have numerous discussions about deleting templates.
fruhulda,
Don't you think that's the first thing I did?

Again thank you for your time, I almost got there.

Fantastic, I've cracked it. Thank you so much

Sorry, how would I know? Most people seem to miss it. Most people also seem to miss that searches can be made. If you had you would have found the answer.
Thank you so much for posting the nonjudgemental answer that acknowledged that finder and Lion do not show us what all the help pages tell us we should see.🙂
I followed your instructions and was able to delete a document I inadvertantly saved as a template. 🙂
Now, if only the Lion version of Pages would allow us to change the folder location of a previously saved document without exiting or duplicating the document.
