USB drive connect on all machines except one.

I have just bought 2 1TB USB3 drives. Seasgate Go Flex.

They work no problem on MacBook Pro and a 2008 24" iMac but it won't connect to the newer 2010 27" iMac. It just appears dead as if no power is going in and it's not recognised at all.

Any ideas how to get this running on the 27" given that the older machines all work happily with it.

All machines are running snow leopard 10.6.8

iMac 27", Mac OS X (10.6.7), 4 GB RAM
