Unable to edit or delete an event in Calendar app

When you tap on the event do you not get a pop-up with its details with a Delete Event button at the bottom of it ? Were the events originally synced from another calendar or were they input directly on the iPad ? I'm able to delete events input on the iPad or synced from iCal on my Mac, but I'm not sure about other calendars such as MobileMe or Exchange.

You could try closing the Calendar app completely and then seein if you can delete them when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with Calendar 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Calendar app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I am unable to edit any events on my iPhone 4S. Edit button does not exist any more, neither does the delete event button or the Invite option. Any help appreciated.

I have the same problem on my 3GS. Edit button gone and noboddy seems to know why

Toggle your iCloud ON/OFF switch should bring back the Edit button.

I Have a similar problem but weirder. I just updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 9.0.2, but this occurred even in the last update. I delete an event on my iPhone Calendar app, and it disappears. However, 2 seconds later it reappears. This just started happening over the last couple days. Very strange. How can I delete ANYTHING?? Thanks!
