iTunes 10 is supposed to support my Rio S30s MP3 player, but it does not show up when I plug it in. How can I get it to work?

I would like to use my Rio S30s MP3 player on my iMac with Mac OS 10.6.8 using iTunes 10, which is supposed to be able to recognize the player, but it does not. I can't find a driver for it. Is there a work-around or a step I am missing?

iTunes 10-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I read it on a RIO website while looking for a driver for the player.

The following Players are supported under Mac OS X:

Rio Cali

Rio Chiba

Rio Fuse

Rio Forge

Rio Carbon 5GB Silver

Rio 500

Rio 600

Rio 800

Rio 900

Nike PSA Players

Rio one

Rio S Series (S10, S30, S35, S50)

Itunes 4.2 or later has built-in support for Rio One, 500, 600, 800, 900, Nike PSA, S Series players, Fuse, and non-Mass Storage (MSC) Cali and Chiba. Download it here.
If you have a Cali/Chiba Mass Storage (MSC), Forge, or Carbon player then you'll need to install a plug-in for your player to be recognized by iTunes. You can install the plug-in using the Mac OS X installer.

With the Mass Storage (MSC) players, you can begin using your Rio immediately without installing any software. Simply drag and drop MP3s directly onto the player. The plug-in is only required for Itunes.

iTunes and the plug-in are required to transfer Audible content to the Carbon and Forge players.

The links to rioaudio are broken. The site no longer appears to be there, as I am re-directed to someplace called "D&M Holdings."

Also, that page references to version 4.2 of iTunes, which is extremely old considering we are in version 10.4. I'm guessing that support for the Rio was dropped a long time ago. Do you have any references more current? (i.e.: link to a current support web page for the Rio.)

I , too, am trying to use my old Rio after years of iPod use. Google directed me to the same Rio support page that apwilliams007 found. All links, downloads, intalls, and iTunes plug-ins still work. APPARENTLY, it is on the Mac OSX/iTunes10 end that is not recognizing the player. If Asatoran would read the WHOLE sentence iTunes4.2 (AND LATER) is in reference to THE FIRST VERSION of iTunes THAT SUPPORTS the Rio players listed up to and including the current version iTunes10 "The following Players are supported under Mac OS X:".

Way to call up a 9 month old post!

and that page (which seems to be no longer accessible) was made in like 2004. It was correct at that time..

That does not mean Apple is required to make iTunes compatible forever with Rio.

You should to contact Rio Audio -> http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/rioaudio/musicmanager.asp
