3G networks can sometimes be disrupted and consequently affect the quality of VoIP calls. We are working on adding a feature that will adapt to disruptions in order to ensure stable calls on 3G networks.
Regarding the contact list issue: Open Viber and find a person you know who has Viber in the "All" contact list. To reboot synchronization, change a digit, save and exit the contact list. Open contact again, change the digit back to the original, correct number, save and exit. Wait for approximately 10 minutes and see if the contact is now recognized as a Viber user.
If this doesn't work, please contact our support team at: http://helpme.viber.com and in the meantime you can use Viber's DialPad to manually dial the number in its FULL format (including the "+" sign, the country code, area code, etc.)
I’ve an Iphone 4.
As Appstore has recommended me the newest version of Viber, I’ve downloaded it.
Now Viber is not working anymore. It's impossible to start it.
How can I go be to the oldest version?
Or if I have to delete the program and redownload it, how is it possible not to loose all my data eg. messages???
There are important info for me.
Please let me know the solution ASAP.
Hello, Viber app on my iphone 3G suddenly stopped working after I installed latest updates to it from AppStore.
The application starts, and UI shell shows up for 3-4 seconds, then it terminates and gets me back to iPhone main menu.
I tried to re-install the application by erasing it and re-installing it from iTunes several times, but this didn't fix the problem.
Could you, please, help me troubleshooting this problem?
@nycky5 - unfortunately there is no way to backup the message history. This is an option we plan to developin the future. As far as we know, there shouldn't be any problem with the new version on iPhone 4. Does the problem persist today?
@ilyakleyman and @mrmatthew - Viber does not officially support iPhone 3G at this stage, as stated in our website (we support iPhone 3Gs and above), and that is probably the reason for the problems you are experiencing. We plan to look into these problems at some point, but unfortunately at this stage we still don't know when it will be fixed
Hi, just wondering if anyone know what happen to Viber in China? Have tried to re-install the app after failing to call anyone, any now it tells me " no connectively".
I'm on wifi/3G and have just used other apps and safari, so the internet shouldn't be a problem.
I'm on iphone 4S...
I am also having the same problem in China as of a couple of days ago but I have an Iphone 3G. I rely on Viber to contact my friends and family back home and I am lost without it! I have tried everything, turning the device on and off again, reseting the iphone, un/reinstalling the app, but nothing works, it still comes up with the same message 'no connectivity', even when I am connected to WIFI.
Please can somebody tell me a solution to this problem and whether or not it is just temporary?

I live in Beijing fro the past 8 months and never had a problem with VIBER , I call my friends without any problem.
however one week ago I lost my IPHONE4 and bought IPhone 4S it worked well , after 2 days it stopped working , also on my IPAD , i think that the Chinese goverment have blocked the ports for VIBER , so sad why did they do that .
VIBER team please help to check , and i'm welling to help you with any test you need .

I am in UAE now , have iPhone 4s 2 months ago, viber was working fine before 10days but after I was upgrading it, it stopped working even to retrieve contacts who have viber ...
I cannot make any free calls right now and every time trying to make manually free call I got an error message (free calls need Internet connection) already I am connecting also same message while being in wifi...
I am in "du" connection in UAE ...
Please need help and advise from viber developers team.
i have a iphone4s and im still facing all problems mentioned above..
when i even try to dial manually from the dial pad it notes: "an internet connection is required to place free viber calls. check your connection and try again".. and my wifi is working perfectly fine
It is not recognising the contacts on my phone.. i had it working fine 2 weeks ago... and no solution mentioned above has solved anything yet..
im located in dubai...any ideas?

The authorities in the UAE have decided to block Viber in the whole country, and that is why you are experiencing this issue. Unfortunately there is not much we can do to help
Note that as far as we understand, the block is gradual, so different users may be afect by it at different stages.
Try contacting the authorities and ask for the reason for this block.
