Arrow keys work incorrectly in MS Word

So I recently updated MS Word 2011 from 14.0 to 14.1.3 and now my arrow keys don't work. If I hid the right arrow key, the cursor moves left, if I hit down, the cursor moves up, if I hit up, the cursor jumps to the first line of the next paragraph, and the left key does nothing.

The keys work fine in every other program, so I know its Word specific. Anyeone else having this problem? Any fixes or solutions? I have to use MS Word for this document (can't use Pages) b/c of Endnote. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.

I am having the same problem. I also have MS Word 2008 installed on my Mac and it does not appear to suffer from this problem. A Google search sent me to a post suggesting that I remove the Normal.dotx template and the Microsoft Word plist, which did not solve my problem.

I have a workaround but those who don't have an alternative word processor will be very, very frustrated with this issue. Perhaps we should complain to Microsoft rather than Apple?

I have a thread started in their help section at microsoft. One response said that in Lion the key commands are backwards but you can change that.

Problem is I'm not using lion, and the keys work in every other program. I was hoping that someone with an Apple would have a work around. Though I think its obvious that microsoft screwed up here.
