how do I hold/extend last frame so I can keep talking over it?

I am adding voiceover, but the video is a bit short and I want to add a summary at the end while staring at the last frame... I can select the last few seconds, there is almost no motion, and then paste-paste-paste-paste-paste it, but then the tiny bit of motion becomes obvious. I can select/paste less time, but then I have to hit paste a lot!! Surely I can hold the last frame for any time... But how??? Perhaps a fade out that is infinitely slow?

OK, 10 minutes later, figured it out. Did control-click on a selection, never did that. Gives me a "add still frame to project" option. Then drag still frame back into video, control click on it now gives a "duration" option.

Now if I could see how to delete this post I would. Maybe I should change title to "How do I delete this entry?".

Yes, you can do this.

Select your last video clip so that the yellow border is around it.

Then click CLIP/Special Effect/Flash and Hold Last Frame.

If you don't like the flash effect, you can delete the fade through white transition.

It defaults to Ken Burns, but you can change that in the Rotate, Crop Ken Burns Tool.

An alternate way:

Put your cursor on the last frame of video. Right-click and select Add Freeze Frame.

Thanks! I read that earlier but couldn't find "CLIP" pulldown. Boy do I feel stupid right now! I'm a mac "super-expert" but I never played with iMovie. I have iMovie '08, Version 7.1.4 on this old MacBook, obviously a very different set of commands. But the control clicks I mentioned above worked, so I got my answer, thanks for your time anyway!
