Where Did My iTunes Library Go?

I'm puzzled.

I just copied my 18 Gig iTunes library (I thought) from my iMac to my MacBookAir. I used an ethernet cable to do this and followed the instructions in Apple's migration assistant. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4413).

The process took about 40 minutes. When it was finished, the drive capacity on my MBA was 18 gigs lower, but I can't find the library anywhere. When I launch iTunes, i still have the 23 songs I started with and not the 4000 I thought I transferred.

I did a search of the MBA and cant find it. I ran disk utility to fix permissions and restarted. No luck.

What happened? If it didn't transfer, what was it doing for 40 minutes?

Any clues out there?

As further information, I have added up all the folders on my drive using the "Show View Optioins" > "Calculate all sizes." The total for my drive is 28 Gigs. The profiler shows 56 Gigs used. Where did the other 28 gigs go? I assume the 18 Gig iTunes library is somewhere in there, but what is taking up the other 10 Gigs?
