G4 won't start up...who do I call?

I use my G4 as a server at the school I teach. I have it set up to come on in the morning before I arrive and shut itself down when I leave. This morning, it was not on. When I went to manually turn it on...nothing. The button light light up then turned off. Repetitive trials gave the same results. I didn't hear any sort of noise on the inside either.

I'm assuming I should call Apple for service. If this is true, what cumber do I call? Thanks for your help.

Hello.

Try resetting the PRAM. Remove the battery, and press the CUDA button (it's right next to the battery) wait about 30 mins, then try it again. If it still wont work, try unplugging the USB stuff, EVERYTHING, even the keyboard, and then try booting it. My USB's on the back of the tower died, and mine will not boot with anything pluged into them.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like the internal battery. It happened to me. Go to local computer store. Costs about $15. Don't be like me and panic and spend all kinds of money [$200]. Make sure the computer is shut down. Then open the computer door, remove the small battery and take it to the store [office depot, circuit city, compusa]. Do that first before investing in panic money. Good luck! Isis
