Q: Compressor losing services in mid-transcode - will it recover automatically?

I'm testing distributed processing for my company using Compressor with two quad-core iMacs. Everything seemed to be going fine, and the transcode was going to take about 4 hours compared to the 19 hours it would have taken on a single machine, but with less than an hour to go, three out of the four instances of Compressor on the "services only" iMac have gone down. Batch Monitor reports "3x crash HOST [iMac name] service down". I checked Activity Monitor on that machine, and the four instances of Compressor are visible, but three of them are showing 0% CPU load.

Segments that were being processed by the cores that *haven't* gone down are still transcoding, but others are reporting "Failed" or "Cancelled". Is there any point in me continuing? Will the failed/cancelled segments be automatically rescheduled to the working cores? Or do I just have to write this session off and start over by resubmitting the job, hoping the same thing won't happen again?
