PowerBook G4 "Titanium" -- Replace Logic Board
As my logic board appears to have went south, I'm wondering if it would be possible replacing the PPC logic board with a Intel one?
Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7)

I've seen such a thing attempted. I wouln't do it if I were you. The problem is, you would have to buy a MacBook Pro logic board. Firtst off, it's going to cost you. Second, the holes for the ports and layout of ports on your PowerBook are different than that of a Macbook Pro. However, the display/ screen has the very same connections and requirements and will work fine with a MacBook Pro motherboard.
Okay, thanks!
How about replacing the G4/400 MHz board with a say G4/1GHz one?

DIcey, for several reasons: cost, thermal compatibility (the heat-sink/thermal pipe assembly is quite different between those variants), plus it's doubtful that the 400 MHz case has openings compatible with a 1 GHz logic board.
By the time you go through all the gymnastics, it would just be easier to buy a 1 GHz machine on eBay and you would end up probably spending about the same cash you would otherwise.
I see...well, thanks again.
So I'll dispose of this old comrade of mine.
I wouldn't just throw it away. Like I said the LCD will work on a MacBook Pro throw it on Amazon, eBay, or Craigslist for a hundred bucks, the keyboard is the same too. The keyboard goes for 50 bucks.. Or, you can sell the whole thing "as is" for parts...
Thanks, I'll give it a shot. 🙂
