Cut and Paste broken in Safari 5.1

Using the keyboard shortcuts Cmd-K and Cmd-Y no longer works correctly in Safari 5.1.

This behaviour (still) works correctly in text edit.

In Safari, the "paste buffer" is apparently never cleared, resulting is ALL of the recent cut operations being pasted, not just the most recent one.
