"Voice Memo" for IPad

I just puchaced this my first iPad 2 since I ruined my itouch. It is crucial I have a voice recorder for school lectures like the one that is included in the itouch. I just realized that iPads do not come with one? Do I have to download it from the app store? I was very happy with the one in my itouch because it synchronized well with my Mac and the sound quality was good. Is there one that you can recommend that would work well for my needs? p.s.: I assume since one can Skype from iPad there IS a mic?
