MBP MC724LL/A frequent fan noise

This MBP is new, delivered last Thursday, 9/22/11. One thing I have obseved is that fan goes on full throttle I have never heard of in my past macbooks and macbook pro. Specifically, it makes throttling noise on Geekbench app (running alone), CNN videos and _videos.com site. Is that normal for a Core i7 processor? Is that something I should be concerned with.

The only time I had this incident was with my previous 13.3" 2010 MBP when running Lightroom 3, Aperture, iTunes, and watching YouTube videos at the same time.

Yes, it's normal for the fans to speed up to dissipate the extra heat generated when the machine is doing anything graphics-intensive.

If you are concerned then take it back to the store and let them check it out while it's still in warranty. You can get it replaced within the first 14 days from purchase, no questions asked.
