I am trying to download the current update for my ipod and it stops after the download before installing it. The date on the ipod is jan 1970 and the time is incorrect. The date and time are correct on my computer. There is no settings app on the ipod so I don't know how to reset the date and time.
Any help?

Go to Setting>General>Time and Date and change them. Also go to Setting>General>International and make sure the calender is set to Gregorian.

The Setting app is the app with the gears icon. I recomment that you download and read the manual:
There is no setting app. I have read the manuals and they did not help.
The setting app can't be hidden or deleted. Try using the Spotlight search to find it.
If you really can't find the settings app, something is seriously wrong with the iPod. First just try resetting. If that fails get the iPod into recovery mode and restore it. This will also update
