If the bookmark is saved on your iPad, then it should be available by tapping the Bookmark icon, the open book icon, on the right side of Safari's control bar.
I know how to select a bookmark. I don't see how to search for a specific bookmark.
I don't see how to search for a specific bookmark.
You will need to be more specific about what that means. There is no search function for bookmarks on an iPad, so you will need to be very specific about what you are trying to accomplish.
Here's the original question:
"How do you search for a particular bookmark in safari on an iPad?"
You can't get much more specific than that. But you answered my question -- It is not possible to search for bookmarks on an iPad. I was fairly sure that was the case, but now I know.
-Thanks
Its 2016 Apple. let's get on this. Safari should have had this capability 5, no 10 years ago. I have 1000s of bookmarks. I know I have bookmarked that, whatever it is, but can't find it!
Tell it to Apple: Apple - Feedback. This is a user to user technical support forum - Apple is not here.
Cheers,

Don't be intensionally dense.
Since the post you are responding to was from over 4 years ago, not sure what your point is.....
GB
Well, thanks for the feedback link Gail. I am surprised that you think Apple Corporation doesn't monitor their own disscussion group. But since this IS four years old it proves that Apple isn't that proactive. It doesn't give me a lot of hope that Apple well ever take action on the Safai Bookmark suggestion I submitted there.
Apple is unlikely to amend its browser in reaction to a single post from a user base measured in hundreds of millions, even after four years.
I'll bite. How do you know this was the only request?
He didn't say it was the only request. He said it was the only post (meaning in this thread). This is not a hot topic on the forum. If it were, then when you Googled this you would have found something that was a little more recent than 2011.
Maybe he was trying to level-set your expectations for this particular issue.
Cheers,
GB
I don't think I need my expectations "level-set" (must be a Maine expression). We all have Hillery Clinton for that. I will continue to expect more from Apple no matter down trodden y'all seem to be. I guess you guys have had your expectations "level-set" from past experience on this forum and association with Apple.
No, it is just reality. Again, your request is simply not one in high demand. Apple being pro-active has nothing to do with it - and neither does Hillary Clinton. We just can't all have everything we want all the time. Life is so unfair, isn't it?
GB
I wouldn't characterize my life as unfair. But if you would like to think so, you are welcome to it. I am hopeful and optimistic and choose to dream of a world where giant corporations make every effort to take helpful suggestions from their cusomers to remain competitive with Chrome and not lay off thousands of Americans in favor of sending production overseas. I am just glad that, unlike me, most Safari users have no use for doing reverse photo searches and have no need to save gifs from the internet.
