Convert .m4v file to .wmv file?

I recently purchased and downloaded Quick Time 7 Pro so that I could play a movie I purchased from iTunes on players other than Quick Time (e.g., Windows Media Player). However, Quick Time 7 Pro only allowed me to resave the .m4v file as a .mov file, which still does not allow me to play my movie anywhere except on Quick Time. I searched the internet and most sites recommend that I "export" then "save as". However, my Quick Time 7 Pro export option does not function. Any ideas (short of purchasing more software)?

You're not allowed to edit or export "purchased" files via QuickTime Player Pro.

Expanding on what Kirk said, movies purchased from the iTunes Store are by demand of the content owners copy-protected and cannot be converted to any other format. The movies can be played only with an Apple device or software.

Ipad, iphone support m4v movies, if you want to play wmv videos from itunes, you need to convert m4v to wmv, how to convert m4v to wmv ? I would suggest you Format Factory!

But, as I say to everyone who does a similar question, I would suggest video AVS Video Converter!

You can use AVS for this! It’s a little for advanced level, but you can get great quality, and small file size!

AVS Video Converter's site says there is no Mac/Linux version.

Purchased music or movies from itunes store is already DRM free. I'm on Mountain Lion (10.8.2) using Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate for Mac 4.1.5 and have had no problems flipping m4v to wmv. — powerful and easy to use. But it's not free and not so expensive also. Whatever...
