Where is the alarm clock on the iPad??

Um why is there not an alarm clock on the iPad? I mean it would be practical if I had a way to wake up in the morning but hey call me crazy. Apple needs to fix this like immediately. iPads definitely need alarm clock functions. iCal could at least have an alarm but it just makes a quiet little chirp. Come on Apple, put an alarm on the iPad!!!!

No one from Apple reads the forum posts... Sure. And I'm not saying the iPad needs this and this and this, I am saying it needs one thing, AN ALARM CLOCK!! Why would I trust my entire day to some third party alarm clock with ads. Give me a ******* break. Ps the iPad also needs flash player but thats a given.

There is no Apple supplied weather widget either. You think that there should be a alrm clock and others think that there should be a weather widget. Apple thinks that you folks should get your own damned alarm clock and weather widget, and likely another dozen or more things other folks think should be supplied. Perhaps you lot should really just get a life.

I don't really want to continue this thread but... I do find it odd that the iPad doesn't have the standard Apple weather and clock apps. I think it's the only iOS device that doesn't. All recent OS X versions have had these widgets too.

I've not seen a stated reason why the iPad doesn't have them.

Just wondering what the logic might be, that's all.

Pointless? Yes. But I'll help keep it alive.

I firmly believe big a should somehow integrate a clock app similar or identical to the iPhone clock app. First off there is not one single argument why there should necessarily not be one. There are however many who feel that it should necessarily have such an app and resultantly there are many free and for pay apps out there, clearly there is a demand. The problem with those apps is they cannot run properly when not in the foreground even with jailbreak. It NECESSARILY has to be apple to give us a proper clock app and it bothers me 7 days a week that they have not.

What he means is that they only work properly if they are in the foreground when the iPad is put in standby.

For example I use Nightstand Central, and it will only only ring for 30 seconds if app is in background. It must be showing on-screen when the iPad is put in standby to ring for longer.

The reason given is to preserve battery in case of alarm being left on by mistake.

At the time I bought Nightstand Central, all the alternatives were the same. Maybe things have changed since.
