iPhone 4 won't charge. Only shows plug symbol?

I woke up and my (AT&T) iPhone 4 won't charge. It just has the plug symbol in the battery picture when it's plugged in. It WILL sync, but won't charge. Battery Doctor app will charge it to 43% MAX in the app, but when I exit out it stays at 39% in the status bar. My warranty IS voided so I can't go to Apple. Any idea? I'm hoping it's just the battery, but I wanna know if anyone has any ideas. I'm on the most recent software.

Should have said this. I did a hard reset and even a restore on iTunes. Nothing is working. And as I said it shows that it is plugged in but the battery is still draining, now down to 38%. I ordered a battery off of eBay but it won't be here till Thursday and I just want to also make sure it couldn't be anything else. I figured it's not the docking port as it is able to sync and shows it is plugged in. I also know the 3g and 3gs have charging fuses, but I didn't see any on the iPhone 4 logic board, so hopefully there aren't any and I don't have to deal with that. Any other ideas, or are we fairly certain it's just the battery?

Thursday wow, from US sellers if I ordered today Sunday using Free Shipping, items could arrive Tuesday. But that is not important. Batteries are inexpensive, basically not any cheaper trouble-shooting steps than that, except for the Reset and Restore Steps. You could try cleaning the iPhone Dock Port with a clean tootbrush and a bit of Isopropyll Alcohol, also an inexpensive Step.
