how can i get a stronger signal for my iPhone?

Does this happen everywhere or just in a certain area?

I am getting the same very weak signal on a new 4S on Vodafone in the UK.

It happens anywhere - and whilst sat next to someone on a 2yr old 3Gs who could get onto the internet (via phone network, not wifi zone) I could not get onto the web at all.

Pretty poor show so far on the 4S from my view - great phone but when added to the "mute" problems when calling others, Apple need to get some fixes in !!

Went to Apple store who reset the phone and said if not done the trick, head back for a replacement.,,,Guess where I will be heading at the weekend?
