photo booth pictures and videos missing HELP

i went to open my photobooth today and i noticed none of my pictures or videos were on the timeline. I went to search for them in the pictures folder and nothing was there either. The only thing I can think of was I updated my software but i dont think that would have anything to do with my photobooth. I had over a year of photos and videos on there. someone please help me find my stuff 😟

Hi Stephanie,

Could be many things, we should start with this...

"Try Disk Utility

1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.

2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)

*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*

3. Click the First Aid tab.

4. Select your Mac OS X volume.

5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.

(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Hello!

This happened to me also!

I don't know how to remedy the situation, but I can help you find your pictures.

I just updated to Lion also!

If you take a knew picture, then go into Photobooth, Right-Click the new image, and click "Reveal in Finder," this will take you to a folder called "Pictures" and you should see all of your [beloved] pictures there! However, this is the only way I can find to *open* this folder... A real pain...

(I moved all my pictures to a new folder so I wouldn't have to worry about them...)

I tried making and Alias to the "Pictures" folder, but it wouldn't let me...

The "Pictures" folder is found within the "Photo Booth Library" folder but if you go into Finder and click on it, it's not there (is this what yours does?).

Anywho, I hope this atleast helped you find your pictures!

PS: I really HATE what Lion did to Finder, its new interface is terrible and overly difficult to manage.

Sometimes I just have to shake my head at how f_ _ _ing useless OSX is at times. I split my kids accounts appart so they each have their own. But my daughter noticed she no longer has all her pictures and movies in Photobooth. We're talking over 500!! Can I just copy/move them to her account? Of course not! I have to figure out how to update the GD Plist text file to now call out each of these files individually! #@$%@#$%@#$%#$%@#$%#@$%

Yes...I'm not in a happy place right now. Guess I'll have to dig in and figure out how to run a script in terminal to do this - very friendly Apple! I'm glad you hid all those confusing JPG files from me so I could just use the software, and not have to worry about getting into the details!!!!

Totally F'ing ridiculous.......
