I recently bought a 13" MBP (July 2011) and am interested in hooking it up to my HDTV, but I have no mini display port.I've checked all my outputs and such, and I'm sure I could figure it out but there are so many people saying so many different things, I'm not sure how to go about it! Is there another way I can connect it?

Use the Thunderbolt port as if it was a Mini DisplayPort.

hi ,i have a shinco 42 inch tv i was trying to mini display port-hdmi conection with mac pro...but its showing blue display in tv and no signal..but i used the hdmi cable with sony tv it worked..im using mac os x 10.7.5. canu anyone help me out?
You need a Thunderbolt/Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter - I bought this one from Monoprice - less than $7.

yes mini display port is the same as thunderbolt
i tried but still same my tv is DTV-4230
