print to pdf

Hi

i'm using Pages 08 ver 3.0.3. Mac OS X 10.5.8.

I have an A4 poster created in Pages with a red letter heading and tried printing it to pdf. However when I opened it in Adobe Acrobat professional the red letter heading is half red and half blue. I've also tried doing it from Adobe Acrobat (File, Create pdf, from file) and i get an error message: There was an error opening this document. There was a Macintosh system error (-1409).

I just want a clean copy for the printer.

Can anyone help?
