iTunes wont detect iPod.

Whenever I connect my ipod to my computer and open iTunes it doesn't detect it(allthough the updater can detect it), until I restart my computer.

eerie ... but that seems consistent with something interfering with your ipodservice.exe or other itunes processes:

the three items mentioned in that document launch on startup. so if there is a brief delay before the hypothetical interfering whatsit shuts one of them down again, you might be able to get a connection immediately after a restart.

lets make a quick observation (aimed at checking on whether something like that might be going on). reboot the computer. then open your Task Manager to the Processes Tab.

do you see an ipodservice.exe, an ituneshelper.exe and a qttask.exe in there?

Hi , I m new here and had been using shuffle for the past 2 mths . Had used it as a disk to transfered data and since then it could not detect by my itunes but it still read as a removable disk in my pc . Pls help , cant live without it !
