by the way, the pdf files ennlarge fine on my iphone browser??it is really blowing me away? on my desktop, pdf seem to load but only gray background shows?? any answer out there??
click on any image and the pdf reads gray in my safari
thanks for your response
yves
Since Firefox is now the most popular browser and your PDFs won't load in it, its better to upload it as an html page to open in a new window or use Google Docs viewer...
http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Website-Email-Marketing/Google-Doc-Viewer.html
You can create the html page with iWeb or, for a faster loading page, create a simple doc with an editor.
"I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link."
firefox has the same issue, it just shows white page??
are you saying that HTML upload will solve problem.... why do you think it works on iphone browser? and not on any desktop viewer safari nor firefox?
Using an html page you can have any background you want. You can add text and a return link too.
It might be a better idea as the pdf in this example is wider than the "standard" web page width of 980px...
Did this get fixed. I have clicked on a number of images on your site and they came up fine as PDF images on a gray background. Some of them are very large multipage pdfs that take a while to load. All I tried could be zoomed in or out. Did I misunderstand the problem or did it get fixed?
thanks for al suggestions
the large and very large multipage pdfs are suppose to give choice to view and downoad.
that is the way it was suppse to work. but since my upgrade to 09 with all the upgrade versions....my browsers are not giving me the pdf choice to view or download. I'm a bit at a loss why your view worked and not on my browser...just in case you missed it above, my iphone shows the whole site perfectly with the pdf's et all..
thank you Badunit
Roddy i won't html just yet, but your suggestion looks great..but don't understand why sometimes pdf works and sometimes not
old toad...any thing mate?
clicked answered by accident
still looking for a solution?
yves
I concur with Roddy on uploading the pdfs to the server and linkiing to them there in iWeb as an external site to be opened in a new window. What system version are you at? What browser are you using? Try clearing your browser's cache (Command+Option+E for Safari) and reload the site.
thanks toad, i'm on 10.5.8 and just upgrade to 09 iweb...and to 3.0.4 --macbook pro 2.4 core 2 duo
cache di dnot work
why would it work on iphone and not on desktop?
any idea why the click to the image won't allow the image to be seen in pdf?? any longer?sinc ethe upgrade
08 seemed to have worked fine until then
Badnit why is yours working?
still trying to find a solution before i jump to HTML
roddy..thanks for the sample.just might do this..
but still wondering why it just stopped working........
Your browser might need this plugin: Schubert|it PDF Browser Plugin.
i will try TOAD to download plugin
---still why does it all the sudden cease to work??
I have the same problem. I upgraded to Lion and since then it is impossible to read pdf s. I have tried with Schubert Browser Plugin with no joy. The only solution is to load the page with Firefox. or Download the page and then read it.
