AVCCAM Restorer: Works GREAT for importing individual MTS files!

I just ran across this little gem from panasonic. It takes a folder of MTS files and rebuilds the whole AVCHD folder structure. From there you can simply point FCPX to a camera archive folder and import everything! I had gigs of raw MTS files that I had copied from the SD before using FCPX. Now I can finally use them without any conversions!

Download "AVCCAM Restorer".

Note this has nothing to do with my previous question of m2t files! Still looking for that...

Thanks.

Help, ASAP!! I am in a bind on location in India. Arrghhh!

Will you please explain in detail how to rename and restructure like you did? I have a gh2 as well. Filles sitting on my drives and need to improt to FCPX. I Downloaded the AVCCAM Restorer. The rebuild is slightly differnet than my native Gh2 file stucture. YEs, FCPX did not recognize it. I renamed the AVCHD file (once it restored in my directory) from AVCHDL to AVCHD and FCPX doesn't recognize the file. Where did you rename it.

Thanks so much,

Can't get it to work for my Sony .MTS files. Does anybody know of an app that will rebuild the structure for Sony .MTS files? I would like to import the files into FCPX and keep the date metadata.

I figured it out using my harddrive and my Sony .MTS files using Panasonic's AVCCAM Restorer V2.3. The .MTS files must be named with five numerals, example 12345.MTS, and placed in the STREAM folder using the folder structre below. I used Automator to rename all the files I put in there sequentially.

HarddriveName

Nothing else needs to be listed within the folder structure. I selected "Restore the Specific AVCHD folder" within AVCCAM Restorer. Be sure the folder breadcrums are show as follows for it to work, I got as far as private once, and it didn't work.

Volumes/HarddriveName/private/AVCHD

Once AVCCAM Restorer was complete, I opened the haddrive as an archive and imported into FCPX. I was also able to use subfolders on my harddrive with the file structure within them and these lead folders became my reel names within FCPX.
