HDMI to Thunderbolt *IN* (PS3)

Hello,

I've been looking around and I'm only finding output options and posts from earlier this year.

Have there been any new experiences, adapters, etc that would allow me to connect a PS3 to the 2011 iMac with Thunderbolt ports(targeted display mode)?

Thanks if anyone knows a solution!

Target Display Mode, which allows you to use the iMac's display, works only with another Thunderbolt-equipped device. An adapter designed to connect an HDMI display to a Thunderbolt port, the only sort of adapter I've seen shipping, will not work. If the adapter you have claims to allow such a connection, please post a URL to the manufacturer's site so we can look into it.

Regards.

When I bought the Mac from PC world the salesman told me this would work and that I could use the Mac as a display for my PS3.

Thanks for your reply's.

There had been HDMI to MDP powered converters for around 100~200 dollars. None of these work with the new Thunderbolt port however. Once they can update things like the Kanex XD it should be possible to send HDMI into your mac... if they can or do upgrade them. It's such a limited market, thanks for pulling IP rights instead of trying to get the market to embrace Thunderbolt Apple. =(
