Right side of screen darker than left after return from repair-swap RAM?

I recently took my Powerbook in to the local Apple store to have them check out a problem I was having with my Powerbook hard drive. Turns out it was going bad and they replaced it in the store and it was ready for pick up the next day (impressive).

However, when I went in to pick it up, I was certain they had brought the wrong computer out; my computer had been scratched and marred very badly on the top and bottom during the repair process. The tech immediately apologized for it and had my PB sent off for complete outer shell replacement. I had my PB back in a week and all seemed to be perfect (except for the occasional popping and sticking "k" and arrow keys, which i am not going to concern myself with too much).

Now, about 2 weeks since the repair, I am noticing that the right side and particularly the lower right of my screen is noticably darker than the rest. If you drew a line straight down the middle of the screen, it would divide the two halfs of color. Though I have seen much worse and I'm not gonna sweat it too much unless it gets worse, I have heard that swapping RAM slots can fix this kind of issue. Is this true? I have a stick of OEM 512 in one slot and a Kensington or Crucial (can't remember right now) 512 in the other.

I just was wondering if anybody else had heard of this or tried it before I break out the tiny screwdriver.

My rev a PB has had this problem for nearly 2 years now. At one time there was a huge post concerning the problem but I figure we have all just given up on a solution, especially after all the posts for lines in the hi res models. Mine has been returned once for a replacement, which was beautiful for about 2 months and then returned to the same condition. It does get worse with age and usage but I dont think we can expect any fix for this old problem. What a sad failure for such an otherwise perfect tool. You never know. a trip to the apple store may get a new display. It sure is worth a try.
