I try to connect my new bose speakers to my computer. When a go to ssystem preferences then sounds, and i select output, it does't give my the option of bose speakers. I am connecting the speakers with the computer with a mini-plug audio input cable
what should i do
I check an it is not selected. but still not working. i am using a mini plug to connect the speakers to the computer, i plugged to the speaker hole on the left side of the computer but still not working.
In theorey, if the mic/headphones jack detects a plug, it will offer the option of using it as a sound output.
If the port does not detect a plug has been inserted, the option is not available.
Try inserting a headphone just to test that the port is working.
the headphones jack is working i just try it, but if i uses that jack for the speakers the music i am hearing on the computer goes off, and if i connected to the speakers jack it doesn't work. how can i test if the speakers jack is working
Audio line-out port.
Bose is not plug and play.
Make sure Input is not selected to Audio line-in port.
Good news then, the port is working fine.
Try changing the cable Bose is connected to.
Radio Shack.
