How can I burn a CD from an .aiff and .cue with (or without) drutil?

A bandmate burned our disk with wrong gaps between songs. I have re-imported the .aiffs, made 1 long track, and put together a .cue sheet to divide the track at the correct places.

I have a .cue file that points to the audio I want to use, but drutil gives me a file/path error. Is it looking for a .bin instead of a .aiff?

I ran "drutil burn" on the entire folder, and it errored on the .cue but burned the .aiff with no info. Is this now a .bin?

I cannot figure out how to burn these files onto a CD (or .dmg, .iso etc.).

Thanks, Tony, for the reply.

I've downloaded both programs, but can't figure out how to associate the two files. Disco just want to make a disk with both the .aiff and the .cue on it, but not splitting the trax with the .cue.

Burn likes the .aiff, but not the .cue, unless I'm burning a data CD.

Am I missing something? Is my .cue formatted wrong (I formatted based on wikipedia and Audacity)? Audacity wiki is where I got the idea that this was possible. The wiki just assumes that any DiscAtOnce burner could split it from a .cue sheet.

Is this possible on a Mac, or should I convert this to a .wav and get one one of my Windows buddies to do it?

I just tested this and drutil works with aiff+cue files

(I used XLD (a good ripper) to export a CD to aiff+cue)

Then I successfully burned a CD with:

drutil burn /Users/Tony/Desktop/The\ Beatles\ -\ Revolver.cue

I suspect that there is an error in your cue file (The FILE must be quoted and end with WAVE and the AIFF and CUE file are in the same directory (the Desktop in my example))

The cue file I generated looks like:

FILE "The Beatles - Revolver.aiff" WAVE

Awesome, Tony. I think you've got it. I was ending my FILE line with AIFF not WAVE. I'll try that.

A couple other things. In the email sent by the forum the REM lines showed up, but they didn't here (note to admins!!). Is all that info lost in the burn? Is there any way to preserve Disc and Track metadata and get it onto my CD so it show up titled instead of Audo CD?

Oh, I just edited the post. REM is a "remark" (just a note in the .cue file). Yes, anything after REM is not burned to the CD.

Some CD Burners cannot burn Text Info to the CD.

Just try adding the info to your .cue. drutil will give an error if your CD burner can't burn Text Info.

For example:

TITLE "Revolver"

PERFORMER "The Beatles"

REM DATE "1966"

FILE "The Beatles - Revolver.aiff" WAVE

TRACK 01 AUDIO

TITLE "Taxman"

INDEX 01 00:00:00
