A VALID DVD DRIVE COULD NOT BE FOUND (-70012)

I finished watching a movie and removed the DVD. When I attempted to put in another DVD it wouldn't stay in and when I selected DVD player under Applications I received the error message: A valid DVD drive could not be found (-70012). In reading the other posts with similar problems the problems started with a stuck DVD. Mine was not stuck. Any ideas?

Hi Jeff, is this an internal or External DCD Drive> Normally that error indicates you're using, or it thinks you're an External DVD Drive...

DVD Player doesn't like external players, use VLC Player...
