iTunes crashes when I run Diagnostics tool

iTunes crashes when I run the Diagnostics tool.

I tried:

1. repairing the install in Add/Remove Program

2. and re-installing iTunes, but I still experience an iTunes crash

OS: Win7, 64-bit version of iTunes

I'm having trouble connecting to the iTunes Store and oddly, Safari can't connect either. I tried all suggestions related to firewalls in the Apple Support pages, but without success. Running the Diagnostics would at least provide some additional insight but that too isn't working.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Quick update: I regained access to the iTunes Store after nuking ALL Apple products from Win7 and starting with a clean re-install of iTunes:

  • iTunes
  • Safari
  • Quicktime
  • Bonjour
  • MobileMe
  • Apple Software Update
  • Apple Application Support

The Diagnostics tool however still crashes, which is puzzling, but at least I now have access to the iTunes Store again.

Here's what worked for me:

1. Go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt (Right click it & choose Run As Administrator)

(If the command prompt is not there, just use the search bar in the start menu and type in cmd)

2. Once the prompt opens type in netsh winsock reset. Hit Enter.

3. Restart your computer

4. Open iTunes and yipeeee it works
