iPod Touch Isn't Syncing

My iPod touch is all of a sudden not syncing with iTunes. When I plug the USB cord in, all it does is charge. It doesn't show up in my devices or computer. I've read through all of the other threads/questions and have tried all the suggestions that they've offered.

I've tried:

  • multiple, different cords
  • resetting and restarting my iPod
  • uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes
  • restarting my computer
  • uninstalling my antivirus software

Please tell me someone out there has SOME idea as to what's going on and how I can fix it? Thank you!

I'm a little nervous it might have something to do with me not ejecting it and/or yanking the cord out and somehow ruining the port that it plugs into.

Did you check the docking port for any kind of debris or damaged pins inside the port? This could explain that it is not recognized on your roommate's computer as well.

You might have to get it serviced or checked out at an Apple Store.
