I have cracked screen and chipped back plate. What would it cost to repair this? Can I do it myself, if so what does it cost for the parts?

    Out-of-Warranty Service

If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below.

Apple does not repair iPads, but will replace the entire iPad for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:

There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipad repair". Parts may also be available; search the web for "ipad parts".

So they will replace my dmaged iPad with another one for $269? Where do I go to do this? I asked a local place and they wanted to charge me $410 to fix it.

Any Apple Store, or you can call Apple Tech Support and arrange to handle it via their ship-in service. You'll pay shipping if you have to send it in.
