I tried to repair the volume on my disc by going to disc utility and went through the process of checking volume preferences and trying to repair the disc. After a long process I learned that my disc is damaged and that I need to reinstall Mac OSx v10.7. I have a time machine so all the info on my files is saved. Now I need to know how to reinstall Lion and save my file info. How do I accomplish this?

Boot and hold down the command-r keys which get you to the Lion Recovery disk. It's all straight forward from there.

Just download it and install it again.If you hold option and then click purchase tab on the mac app store then lion change from installed to install and you can get it again.Is better than reinstall snow leopard and the lion again.
Did you verify the disk in Disk Utility while booted from it? If so, before doing anything else, you should confirm that the disk really is damaged by booting from your recovery partition and running Disk Utility again.
