Installing Windows 7 using Boot Camp

I am trying to install Windows 7 onto my Macbook Pro using bootcamp, but whenever the installation starts a blank screen with "no bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key" pops up. I've called Windows but they cant help me with this, and I cant find the number for bootcamp support (if there is any). Can anyone help me get past this, or if there is a number for bootcamp support can you please give it to me?

Which version of windows 7 are you trying to install ? 32bits or 64bits ?

I suppose you are trying to install from a DVD, using the mbp's superdrive, right ?

To csound1 : since the Windows partition is not installed yet, it should not appear on the list using the alt key. However mikey should at least see the booting DVD partition (usually called Windows).
