Please see the support pages on for the Product. I found it pair but asked me to identify the keyboard. I did not identify just canceled and it stayed paired and work perfectly now. I didn't have to restart or reset bluetooth just worked along-side of the apple bluetooth keyboard. in 10.11.6 El Capitan. I hope this helps. 🙂

This is it? http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/24/lmp-bluetooth-keypad-now-ready-willing-to-mat e-with-your-apple/

It should work.

Make sure Discoverable and On are selected in System Preferences / Bluetooth.

Try pairing a different way.

In the System Preferences / Bluetooth pane with both of those boxes selected click: Set Up New Device.

Then follow the instructions.

If you still have problems, go to /Library/Preferences.

Move the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file to the Trash.

Restart your Mac. Try pairing the keypad again.

I'm having the same problem, after using the LMP keypad for more than a year. It will not pair up with my Imac (even with new batteries) and nothing I've tried has resolved the problem. Even the Apple people (who curtly told me the LMP was NOT their product, even tho I had bought it there) were unsuccessful. Did we buy a pig in a poke? I cannot find any address for the manufacturer either. Anyone have any clues?

Ditto here. I've followed the instructions and can't get it to reconnect. The instructions state that the LED light should turn yellow when I press the pairing button, but nothing lights up. I'm wondering if that's part of the problem. Perhaps my device is no longer pairing.

I wish Apple would make 10-key keypad. This is so frustrating.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I finally called the manufacturer in Switzerland last month to get a replacement or refund, and they helped me resolve the issue and it works fine again. They were apologetic and very helpful. These are the instructions they sent me.

"We are sorry to hear that you are having problems with your Keypad.

"It is always difficult to judge where the problem lies. In the past, we have encountered problems when the Mac was upgraded to OS X 10.7.2 in the sense that the Bluetooth thread was somehow distorted. From your description, it appears that your Mac might have a similar problem in the sense that there have been numerous attempts to pair it. Clearing these threads and pair the Keypad from scratch might be all that is needed.

"So before we exchange the unit, we kindly ask you to try this:

- Remove all entries of "Bluetooth Keypad" in your Bluetooth preferences by selecting them and press "-".

- Turn off your Mac.

- Turn off the Keypad by pressing the on/off button for 3 seconds (the LED will become steady green).

- Start up your Mac and shut it down again.

- Press the on/off button of the Keypad very briefly (only a split second!). The LED should flash briefly. It must not become steady green (steady green meaning it is in the process of turning itself off).

- Start your Mac and open the Bluetooth assistant in the system preferences.

- Press the "+" sign to pair the Keypad. The Mac searches for a new Bluetooth device now.

- Turn the Keypad upside down and press the small black pairing button on the reverse side of the Keypad with a pen.

- The Bluetooth assistant should see the Bluetooth Keypad. It will display an 8-digit code.

- Enter the 8 digits on your Keypad and press the key "enter" on your Keypad.

Note: The numbers will not be high-lighted as it may be with other Bluetooth devices!

- The Keypad should be connected now.

"Please advise if this helped to solve the problem. If not, we will send you a replacement unit along a return label."

Thanks Kristin

I tried your steps (their steps really, if we want to be accurate) and they DID work. This, after everything else that I tried failed to get the keyboard functioning so as you can imagine, I'm delighted at this excellent tutorial from the makers of the lmp. I'm puzzled though at the seemingly inordinate OFF / ON switching that we do during this process -

turn off your Mac

start up your Mac and shut it down again

start your Mac

What's that all about? But in the end, the process worked beautifully and that is what really matters.

Cheers

Hi Kristin,

Wanted to let you know the instructions you posted to get the LMP Keypad to pair worked PERFECTLY!! While the instruction book says once you press the pairing button on the back it will blink yellow, it did not. But my Mac instantly recognized the keypad after the second start. Whooola.... typing from the keypad now.... 45567731697-4764. That's numbers for thank you!!

BTW.... you have to do this process everytime you replace your batteries if you've upgraded to 10.7.2 or higher.
