Question

3rd gen ipod touch won't turn on

my ipod touch 3rd gen won't turn on. i tried the holding home button and the power button, i held them for about 30 seconds and it didn't help. any help would have been helpful. thanks

If the computer recognizes the unit, restore. If not, you may have a hardware issue--like a bad battery or logic board.

If your computer doesn't recognize it, try plugging it into a dock and then holding the sleep and home button for about 15 seconds. If, after that time, the device has not turn on or show any signs of life, then your best bet would be to take it to a Apple store.

If it does turn on and show a cable plugged into it icon, plug it into your computer and let iTunes find it. From there you should restore it which will take about 20 minutes.
