Google redirect notice - how to make it go away?

When I search using Google in Safari on my iPad 1, when I select a URL that I want to go to the next page is always a "Redirect Notice", instead of the selected URL, which gives the option to either proceed to the URL that I selected in Google, or to "return to the previous page". This behaviour started out of the blue, all of a sudden (i.e. I don't think I did anything to cause the behaviour), and I don't seem to be able to make it go away; also, it's extremely annoying. Could someone kindly tell me how I make this behaviour stop?

iPad, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
