Safari add # to end of url

Safari has been behaving srangly lately. It has been adding a # symbol to the end of all url's. I'm not sure why it's doing this, but it makes navigation difficult since when I hit the back button I go to the url without the # added (which is the same page). I need to hit back a couple of time to actually navigate to previous page.

Any ideas what's causing this?
