How to add a blank black screen ?

Hi all,

In FCE4, I can create a blank black screen, I think the effect was slug.

But how do we do that in FCP X ?

to use the position tool press P, and then press A again to go back to the normal tool.

Alternatives:

1. You can also right click and replace an existing clip with a gap by selecting "replace with gap"

2. You can insert a Solid>Custom clip from the media generator on the right.

Thanks BIll,

Generators > Solid > Custom is exactly what I was swarching for.

I should have looked at the Generaotors instead of searching in Video Effects ...

Just seperate the two clips, and the gap in the middle will be black. Use the position tool to move the clips apart.
