IPod Touch Cracked Screen

Hello Apple World,

So I picked up my IPod Touch 4G off of my bed yesterday and I saw that it had a cracked screen, so I freaked.😮 I hadn't dropped it or anything. I went to best buy and asked the Geek Squad guy if there was anything he could do about it, but he said no. He did say that I could purchase a repair kit of Amazon, but for the ones I found, the reviews steered me away from them, and there was not many I found. Is there any reliable repair kit or anything else I can do to get it fixed?

Thanks and Bunch🙂

Apple does not repair iPods, but will replace the entire iPod for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:

There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair". Or you can look for parts; search for "iPod parts". Sorry, not having cause to patronize either a third-party repair shop nor parts suppliers, I can't make recommendations, but perhaps someone else here can. Post what country you're in so people can avoid recommendations that involve overseas shipping.

Yes, even if the iPod works perfectly otherwise. There once were reports that some Apple Stores would replace the glass if that's all that's cracked, but I haven't seen reports of that recently so I don't think they do that any longer. You can visit your local Apple Store and ask, though. Otherwise, you would have to pay Apple's flat charge for any out-or-warranty service or look to independent repair services.

Regards.
