My 2005 iMac (PPC) won't boot and I been told it has to do with the mother board.
It is my understanding that I can pull the HD and put it in an external case and use it as an external HD. Is this true? Does anyone have any first hand experience with this?

Yes, you can do this, you can also simply put it in a drive dock and run your iMac from it there as well.

You'll note that harddrives do not last forever. Don't rely on it. Back up all data.

Thanks. This is all pretty much an academic exercise. I have every thing backed-up. I've ordered an enclosure with USB 2.0 and eSATA and SATA connectors. There might be a thing or two on the HD I will get off, but for the most part I have backed up everything...Thanks again. ~Bob
