i can't seem to rotate my 3d charts. this goes for bar abd pie charts too. if i press the arrows at the 3d scene, nothing happens.

same problem here. i tried to make a brand new sheet with a few random numbers, but the 3d rotate button is still greyed out. am i missing something? i know i used this function before.
i'm using Numbers '09, and lion, all updated.
my bad. you have to click and hold the button, to actally rotate the chart. the tooltip correctly states to "drag", i didn't notice it.

Are you sure about that? On my machine I have no trouble rotating 3D charts in Numbers 2.3, which is part of iWork '09.

The OP already said they figured it out so I don't see why/how you can state that it cannot be done.
Also, this is a thread resurrected from over 2 years ago.
I refer to this article here http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10483 that states you can't rotate a chart in pages '09. I didn't mean iWork, my mistake!
I think the problem is in the word "rotate". You can rotate a 2D chart clockwise or counterclockwise. You can rotate a 3D chart side to side and back and forth. You cannot rotate a 3D chart around like a 2D chart and can only rotate it to a certain extent in the other directions. It is the same in Pages '09 and Numbers '09. The OP was trying to rotate a 3D chart using the 3D chart rotating tools but couldn't figure out how to get them to work.
