David have a look at http://code.google.com/p/hyperpen-for-apple/downloads/list. It's my code I started to develop when I got frustrated looking for the right driver to get my tablet to work. You could give it a try. When double clicking in the finder it opens a command window and tells you the current screen size.

When you use the stylus it gives you correct pressure readings - you can realy use it as a pen.

Switch to any other program that supports a graphics tablet and it should work for you. I started to code this driver and it's not feature complete right now. It comes without a configuration UI but it works (at least for me).

Please tell me if it works for you as well.

Thanks Ukiller! Great work!

First I telll you that i'm an ex windows early mac user, so I don't understand several thing in Mac.

I downloaded the code and started the script.

The Medion md41217 tablet (is similar to Aiptek 12000U I found out on Google) is working!

You made me an happy man.

But 1 question keeps me in mind: is it possible to get an exsisting program to refine the pen settings?

Can you please let me know how to handle?

Thanks in advance,

Rikkie,

thanks for your feedback. It's good to hear you are happy with my driver.

At the moment the basic configuration can be done via command line options. I know that this isn't convenient, but it gets you working. The function keys aren't configurable right now but instead hard coded in the driver.

As I understand, you are looking for an easy configuration utility. I assume you'll be happier with a dialog to set things up. I am programming this at the moment.

What features would you like to see configurable? Please send me your ideas and I will see how to include it.

Kind regards

Udo

Udo,

What a service you will do, to make a configuration utility.

As I wrote in my first reply, I'm an ex windows user and don't understand how scrips work on my mac.

That's the reason that I can't use the files in the ioHIDAiptek folder to config the fuction keys.

During Google search for drivers for my Medion Tablet, I found some drivers at the Aitpek website for Mac.

One of the utils who came with drivers is FkeyHandlerX. I think this utility gives all I need to program the functions om the tablet, but it doens't work properly. (or I do something wrong...). The 24 function keys are displayed on the config screen, but when I add something there, it will not work.

The things I would like to config are the function keys, the buttons from the stylus and the speed to scroll (or make the workspace smaller to avoid RSI problems). Maybe you have other things that will handy to use.

Thanks in advance for helping me to get my tablet working and config.
