How do I display HDMI on the iPad2?

I'm wondering if the iPad2 could be used as a monitor for an HD videocamera with HDMI output. There is at least one company that makes hardware to secure the iPad to a tripod, C-stand, etc., but how do I go from an HDMI output to input on the iPad2? Is additional software required?

Thank you.

FYI, here's the website of the company, Tether Tools, http://www.tethertools.com/ that made me think such a connection existed. However, it seems that they are a hardware company that makes it possible to mount an iPad or a laptop to a variety of camera tripods and light stands. I made the incorrect leap that the iPad could work as an external monitor for a DSLR or videocamera.

Products that are made to do this job (from companies such as Ikan, Manhattan, Marshall Electronics, Nebtek, Panasonic, Sony, and Transvideo) start at as low as about $500 and go up, way up, from there.

Thanks again.
