i have never felt technologically adequate, from being a 5 year old kid who had trouble adjusting his skates to a 12 year old trying to adjust his ski bindings, to a teen ager finding the carburetor on his vw beetle, but years ago when i jumped into the abyss and bought an apple computer i followed the printed page inside the box explaining the four steps to become a “user.”

    1. take computer out of box. 2. plug into the wall. 3. plug in keyboard (picture provided) 4. turn on computer.

from that day forward i have considered myself technologically capable.

thank you Steve Jobs and may you rest in peace, though based on your past, there will not be much rest but energized times for you and those in your new existence as your creative spirit goes on and on and on.

You will be missed Steve, not just by all Apple users, but by the world. You showed us what true greatness in business and design was all about. RIP.

Mine, too. The same thought crossed my mind. I will spend it joyfully, using the products that Steve would want me to.

    Dear Steve

In 1991 I bought a Mac Classic with a 20MB hard drive, a modem and a printer.  Because of my Mac, I met & married my soulmate. We've been together from MacDraw to PhotoShop, from HyperCard to HTML, from ResEdit to Darwin, from AOL to DSL, from Newton to iPad, from SE to MacAir.

Thanks to you & Woz for starting Apple.  Thanks for having insanely great vision and the drive to pursue it. May your memory be blessed.

    PS: I hate cancer.

Thank you Steve Jobs for all the ways that you've touched our everyday lives.  I am so glad I was able to watch you in several macworld conferences... Seeing you in action, doing what you do best... was a great priviledge.

Thank you... may you rest in peace!

Well said Steven Shmerler and also Joe Gramm - ditto  indeed. There is a myth that alludes to the fact that the colour of the Rolls Royce  logo changed from red to black at the passing of Henry Royce, it was coincidence however. I would seem to me that it might be appropriate that perhaps the Apple logo while it has changed from the original multicolured apple to the white one, might be changed again somehow to mark Steve's passing. Nothing over board, maybe a black highlight or similar. It could mark a new chapter in Apple's history while paying repsects to the great man. What do we think?

    RIP Steve

Thanks Steve for all you have given us, thanks for the tools you have given to help us do our jobs, thanks for the pods that give us our music and thanks for the phone that help us keep in contact. Thank you for changing the world for a better place.  May you rest in peace.

To the Steve Jobs family may you all have strength at this sad time. The world is thinking of you.

Rest in Peace Steve Jobs, A man with vision and inspiration on a new innovative world with technology. He was a man with a plan to help working fun and creative at the same time. I have watched his dreams come to reality at the new inventions of computers, software and people being more closely connected through technolgy.

He was a ceo that was with and for the people at bringing the not-so-computer-minded to understand and be very helpful in advice. Also he would seek very intelligent software technicians to help understand and see his dream/vision and make it on a user-friendly interface for all ages to enjoy.

I am an illustrator and graphic designer and I have been using Apple computers ever since I can remember when I started to join my natural talent with a computer and all the creative software. My work along with the Apple software always gave me a polished touch. I look at the years on how Apple has grown at being always the leader in computers, software, cell phones and music players. I feel that his actions of speaking, teaching and presenting great ideas along with sleek clean design packaging is something he can say that he left the world to remember. Steve Jobs will be truly missed and it's going to be hard to fill his shoes to find someone who is a ceo and has a deep passion like he had.

I'm deeply saddened by this extraordinary man's passing. The ways in which Mr. Jobs has effected our lives and world can not be easily measured. I'm certain he had his flaws as we all do, but I'm also certain our world is now a much better place because of his life and work. "Rest in peace, Sir. You can not be forgotten."
