Does apple tv remote use bluetooth?

appletv dont have bluetooth

apple remote use IR (Infrared like most remotes)

remote app on ipod touch/iphones/ipads use wifi

Some unofficial sites suggest AppleTV2 logic board may in fact have Bluetooth just that it's not currently used - would be great if this is true to allow some Bluetooth peripherals to be used in the future or to allow different ways of using Remote app.
