Adress book doesn't show my contacts

Adress book doesn't show my contacts

Hi everyone!

Abou a week ago I realized my contacts were deleted from my adress book. I can't see them and I simply can't do anything about it. It also can add new contacts. When I press the plus button ➕ nothing happens. I tried to reinstall it and no matter what it keeps saying I have 0 cards.

It's similar to https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2212389, but I still coudn't figure the solution out.

Hi:

I looked at that thread in your post. It appears that the two suggestions would be good troubleshooting steps.

Actually, I have no yourUserNameHome/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist.

None of the suggestions seems to work.

Hello:

I am puzzled..... OS X rebuilds missing preference files (plist) as needed.

That file is in your home folder (not the HD). ~library>preferences. Actually there are three plist files with addressbokk in them.

Ok, I found it. But I only have two plist.

com.apple.AddressBook and

com.apple.AddressBook.abd

I tried deleting them, but it didn't work. My address book interface looks exactly the same.

I know I have my cards, because I can see them on Adress Book's metadata folder. But I can't see them in the application.

Nothing seems to work.

Hello:

It is a little late for this question, but I should have asked if you have a Time Machine backup. If you do, the recovery should be straightforward.

I did some more searching, but could not find anything else relevant to your problem.

Nothing. I have my contacts, but the application won't show them.

Hi again:

I am about to sign off for the evening, but you did not indicate if you have Time Machine. If you do, restore from a version that is back before you had the trouble.
